ACS (I) – GOS Partnership
On 29 April, we set up a booth with our friends from Grace Orchard School at Fairfield Methodist School’s Make Me a Blessing carnival. We aimed to promote an awareness of people with special needs and raise funds. At the booth, we sold terrariums and taught visitors how to make terrariums.
This was the first time we had a joint VIA project with Grace Orchard School, Through this enriching and meaningful project, we forged new friendships and had a lot of fun interacting with one another.
We learnt how to make different kinds of terrariums to sell to the public and how to communicate and engage with members of the public. Not only were the terrariums selling fast, but visitors who opted to make their own terrariums enjoyed the experience.
This experience allowed us to gain conceptual knowledge and perspectives of the real world, and helped us to build bonds with one another. It was heartwarming to know that our efforts over the several weeks of preparation for the carnival would go towards blessing the special needs community.
