Inter Hostel Competition 2023
Awards for ACS (I) Boarding School
The ACS (Independent) Boarding School took part in the Inter-Hostel Competition 2023 and clinched four awards in the hostel category. A staff member and five scholars have received individual awards.
Our Boarding School was presented the Inter-Hostel Challenge Cup in the Inter-Hostel Competition Challenge 2023. This award is given to the hostel that scored the highest in 3 categories - most caring, most innovative and most integrated.
The SPARKS Award recognises the Boarding School’s community outreach efforts, including housing healthcare staff, among other outreach endeavours by the Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC). This year, the JCRC organised the “Read for Books” Values-in-Action project in collaboration with the National Library Board. Furthermore, JCRC also partnered the National Parks Board to organise GoGreen@ACSBSch.
The Integration Award recognises the Boarding School’s continuous efforts to help boarders adapt to Singapore, and promote Singapore as a place to live, work and study.
In addition, the Boarding School received a new award this year - the Innovation Award. This recognizes the Boarding School’s efforts in promoting innovation.
The HEART (Hostel Staff with Exemplary Attitude, Reliability and Tenacity) Award is to recognise contribution and commitment of a boarding staff in each boarding school/hostel who provide quality service to stakeholders, is efficient and productive, and also demonstrates commitment and contribution. The recipient of the HEART Award is Mrs Andriany Tee. Mrs Tee serves as the Hall Mistress of Hall 12 and the overall Teacher In-Charge of the Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC), fulfilling her duties with vigour.
The Values Ambassador Award is presented to deserving scholars who exhibit desired values in the Boarding School. Some of these values include Gratitude, Integrity, Resilience, Responsibility, and Respect. The recipients of the Values Ambassador Award serve as members of the Executive Committee for the 28th Junior Common Room Committee (JCRC). They are:
